THE ILLINOIS ACADEMY OF CRIMINOLOGY
ANNOUNCES THE
SPRING 2008 AWARDS NOMINATIONS
The Illinois Academy of Criminology is accepting nominations for:
The MORRIS J. WEXLER AWARD
for outstanding contributions to the field of criminal justice and to
the
Academy.
The HANS W. MATTICK AWARD
for outstanding accomplishments in the field of criminology and criminal
justice research.
The ANNE O’BRIEN STEVENS AWARD
for outstanding contributions to the field of criminal justice by a
woman.
The NORVAL MORRIS JUSTICE AWARD
for outstanding efforts to promote justice and correct injustice in
the
criminal justice system.
The MICHAEL SPIOTTO AWARD
for outstanding contributions to the field of law enforcement.
The SEYMOUR J. ADLER AWARD
for outstanding contributions to the prevention of juvenile delinquency
or
the treatment and rehabilitation of juvenile or adult offenders.
The EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S AWARD
for significant contributions to the Academy, by a member, during the
previous year
CRITERIA FOR THE AWARDS:
- The nominator must be a member in good standing of the Academy.
- The nominee should have made an outstanding contribution to the
field of criminology or criminal justice, in terms of advancement of
knowledge, program design, research, education, publication or service
work.
- The Awards Committee will specifically consider:
- years of work or service
- programs developed, designed or operated
- publications
- research
- prior recognition or awards
- volunteerism in the field
- effect of work on the field and colleagues
NOMINATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN FRIDAY MARCH 14th, 2008
(THE SPRING INSTITUTE IS SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9, 2008)
